Perhaps it was early in life when I felt like the black sheep, the one who stood out, then learned to stand up and be heard…
(Sometimes we may feel like the ugly duckling, but are actually a swan!)
Or the time I stood up to a man who was not doing the right thing by young girls, don’t get me started on that. I’m like a fierce lioness when it comes to vulnerable children and teens.
Or perhaps it was when life gifted me with my most precious baby boys, the sweet memory of them safely snuggled into my arms as they would eventually pass out contented after a feed.
However, something profound happened within my being, when I had a sudden, unexpected brain haemorrhage when my babies where only 3 years old. It was as if the world was turned upside down and nothing seemed to flow or fall in place for me. Life became a nightmare. I was lost in it and wondered if I’d ever come out fully feeling myself again.
It was a major wake up call for me and it got me searching for answers. The challenges I faced put me on a path of profound awakening. I remember that moment I thought, life is so very precious and that I wanted to do something special with it.
I didn’t want to take any precious time for granted, or waste time and end up at the end of my life regretting all the things I didn’t do. And mostly the gifts and passion in my heart that wasn’t fully given and explored. In the end we are all here to contribute something very special to our planet, especially at this momentous time in evolution.
I wanted true, honest meaning. Whilst I was grateful to have my accounting degree, and this gave me a foundation in my life, it was not fulfilling me.
Don’t ask me how I did it. But as a young mum with two young baby boys not only recovering from a brain haemorrhage but also still healing from witnessing assault in my younger years, I ended up at the most exhilarating experience of my life. It is as if it only happened yesterday. I still see myself doing the Fire Walk with Tony Robbins who became my inspiration when it comes to overcoming major obstacles in my life.
You could say, I found my fire within to follow my dreams, whatever they were...
As life will have it, it takes you on meandering paths... over hills and through valleys until you’ve seasoned somewhat, grown wise and humble enough to allow life to guide you where it wants you to go.
The most important thing I learned is that if I can shift my energy and frequency, many problems disappear as quickly as they came. In many ways it’s like being inside a chrysalis and slowly transforming into a beautiful butterfly. This alone is a pure gift to share <3

For over 18 years, I’ve built my massage2motivate business servicing the elderly as well as corporate folks with body work all over Australia. The focus of wellness, health and motivation was what fuelled my inner drive. Whilst it’s wonderfully empowering to be successful in my business, it was time to feel into my heart again afresh and serve our community in yet another, more profound way.
What is life whispering to me this time?
And no joking the inspiration came to me through a precious memory that laid dormant for many years. It was the chapter of the Magical Worry Tree in my sons favourite meditation book. Every time we enjoyed this dreamy togetherness when they were little, their hearts were lighter afterwards and they peacefully rested and quietly slumbered through the night.
I dreamed of a sacred place where people would come and be recharged by the healing frequencies present. It also needed to be a creative, imaginative and transformative space for children to play and thrive.
The project with the help of many beautiful heart centred souls of diverse skillsets and abilities, grew from being a little dormant golden seed under the ground, into a beautiful magical thriving tree.

Sophie is the creator of Our Sacred Place Community and Principle Participant. She is passionate about children’s inner and outer wellbeing with the desire for them to grow and flourish.
Seeing the impacts of the COVID years due to isolation, lockdowns, etc., Sophie decided to do something about it and create a pathway for children and their families to self-heal, restore and rebuild gently, together.
After working in the corporate sector as an accountant in 2001, Sophie took a leap of faith and followed her inspiration by entering into the world of wellness and healing through massage.
She already had a strong interest in the healing effects of massage; her twin boys were elite gymnasts at the Victorian Institute of Sport at the time and she spent many hours massaging them to aid recovery.
Sophie also massaged in a personal training studio, which led her to providing massage support to triathletes at the World Triathlete Championships in Hawaii in 2005.
Coming from a corporate background, Sophie founded Massage2Motivate in 2005 with the initial intention of bringing massage into the workplace.
The business started small by providing corporate massages to clients based in Melbourne; however, after landing a national contract soon after, Massage2Motivate quickly expanded providing corporate and event massage services Australia wide and occasionally New Zealand.
Recognising the many benefits of massage, Sophie wanted to make massage accessible to everyone. This lead to Massage2Motivate also providin and aged care massage across Australia, particularly for the elderly on home care packages, providing regular massage to help the elderly stay in their homes for longer.
In late 2022, Sophie had itchy feet again, feeling the need and knowing so strongly that there was also another way she could serve humanity. Since her children had become independent and grown up, her desire rose within her heart and soul to create something special for little ones and teens to heal from past trauma, fear and anxiety, especially post COVID years. This is how Our Sacred Place community came into being.
Sophie birthed two beautiful twin boys, and their wellness has been her inspiration to seeking ongoing reslience for her family and others.
Having been born into the arms of a lively Greek Family, Sophie is breathing community with every ounce of her being. Even though she is a busy woman, she still finds time to pour love into her cooking and sharing it with family and friends.
The great thing about being the ‘black sheep’ in the family is, that after a while you’ve got permission by everyone to be different, unique and kind of the entertainment of your tribe. You create some curiosity, and sometimes, friends look forward to hearing what you are up to next... Like the time, Sophie shared with her family and friends that she had just walked over red hot coals, took part in board breaking and fire eating... She found that the hot coals experience was one of the most exhilarating ones in her life ‘If I can do that, I can do anything’
